British Airways have reported to start it's scheduled flight between London
Gatwick and Keflavik in march 2006.

There will be 5 flights a week starting from the sunday, 26th of march, then on
mondays, wednesdays, fridays, saturdays and sundays and the fares will costs from 200 £.

According to report from BA departure will be from LGW at 07:30 (GMT) and
arrival in Iceland KEF at 09:40 (GMT).

Departure from KEF 10:30 and arrival at London Gatwick at 2:35pm.

Bmi is introducing four times a week flights from Heathrow to Lyon, a major ski destination.

The flights will operate from Friday to Monday from December 3 to April 22, 2006.

The airline's chief executive, Nigel Turner, said: "As well as adding new long-haul services from Heathrow we are at the same time extending the number of European destinations we serve."

The Lyon flights will be bmi's 23rd destination from Heathrow. It already flies to the French cities of Paris and Nice.

BA's schedules for the winter season and it seems that BA is increasing flights to Africa:

1- Tunis: will get a fifth flight weekly with 2 of the flights now spending the night in Tunis and departing earlw morning the next day.
2- Alexandria : will go back to non stop 4 times weekly.
3- Sharm El Sheikh : 3 new weekly flights.
4- Hurghada : 2 new weekly flights.
5- Lagos : 3 extra flights weekly bringing to 10x LHR-LOS.
6- Nairobi : is replacing the 767s with 777s twice weekly.
7- Addis Abeba : will be served 5 times weekly.
8- Marrakesh : will get 3 weekly flights to Manchester for the first time.
9- Abuja : will get a daily flight for the first time
 
Finnair announces third Japan service

Finnish flag carrier Finnair said in a Helsinki stock exchange statement Thursday that it would begin a thrice-weekly direct service from its Helsinki-Vantaa hub to Nagoya, its third destination in Japan and ninth in Asia, in June 2006.

Carpatair nimmt am 19.09. tägliche (ex. So.) Flüge von Bukarest (BBU) nach Temeswar/Timisoara (TSR) mit S20 auf, als Zubringer zum Hub, allerdings wird die Strecke auch intern angeboten. Dadurch wagt man sich zum ersten Mal in direkte Konkurrenz zu Tarom, deren Strecke OTP-TSR die interne Parade-Strecke ist. Außerdem hat Carpatair slots für TSR-FRA ab Herbst beantragt, ob sie allerdings was bekommen wird sich noch zeigen. Aber vielleicht kriegen sie ja was von den LX/LH-slots ab, wenn Moritz Suter seine Beziehungen spielen lässt;)
 
New service to commence on 2 December 2005

Johannesburg, South Africa: Gulf Air is returning to South Africa. After an absence of more than eight years, the airline will be recommencing non-stop flights between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Johannesburg from 2 December 2005.

The service will begin with three flights per week on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from Bahrain to Johannesburg and Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from Johannesburg to Bahrain with timings specifically designed to connect with Gulf Air’s other new destination – Dublin.

Flights from Johannesburg will also provide excellent connectivity onwards to Hong Kong, Manila, Bangkok and Istanbul and a number of other destinations in Gulf Air’s extensive network.

Operated by Airbus A330 aircraft, passengers will be able to experience the airline’s state-of-the-art sky beds in First and business class along with other innovations including Gulf Air’s unique Sky Chefs and Sky Nannies.

Johannesburg becomes Gulf Air’s 46th destination in 32 countries and the schedule for flights to the African continent is as follows:

American Airlines adds international flights

[font=Times New Roman,Times,Serif]American Airlines on Monday said it is adding international flights to from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to Montego Bay, Jamaica and Guanacaste, Liberia, effective Feb. 3.

American and affiliate American Eagle, both units of Fort Worth-based AMR Corp. (NYSE: AMR), said the Montego Bay flight will operate Friday through Monday, subject to government approval. The new service will join American's four existing flights to Montego Bay from Miami and New York.

The flight to Guanacaste will operate Wednesday and Saturday and return departures will operate Thursday and Sunday, American said. Additional connections to Guanacaste also are available through American's Miami hub.

Austrian Airlines (OS/Vienna) will operate a weekly seasonal B737-600 service between Innsbruck and Moscow Sheremetyevo between December 16 and March 24, 2006. It is reportedly planning to add a new route from Vienna to Birmingham.

[size=-1]Hong Kong Express launched its first scheduled flight yesterday. The airline started service from Hong Kong's Chek Lap Kok Airport to Guangzhou's New Baiyun International Airport. HKG Express will operate 4 flights a week on this route using an Embraer 170. Services to Hangzhou are scheduled to start in early October and will be followed by flights to Nanjing, Chongqing and Ningbo throughout the latter months of 2005 into early 2006.

[size=-1]Mahan Air confirmed the start up of service from Tehran to Manchester on December 10th. The airline will operate 2 flights a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with an Airbus A310.

British Airways erweitert Streckennetz
British Airways nimmt im kommenden Jahr vier neue Ziele in den Flugplan auf. Unter anderem wird die britische Fluggesellschaft erstmals Island anfliegen. Fünf Flüge pro Woche soll es von März 2006 an nach Reykjavik geben, wie das Unternehmen mitteilt. Neu ins Programm kommen außerdem Tirana in Albanien, die türkische Hafenstadt Izmir sowie die bulgarische Stadt Varna am Schwarzen Meer. Alle genannten Ziele werden von London Gatwick aus bedient.

Mit Beginn des Winterflugplans wird Lufthansa sechsmal woechentlich
von Frankfurt nach Dnipropetrowsk und zurueck. Gleichzeitig wird die
Zahl der Fluege nach Sofia von derzeit sieben auf 14 pro Woche
erhoeht. Bangalore und Kapstadt sollen taeglich angeflogen werden.

Wie sind denn die Chancen, dass CO auch nach MUC kommt? Ist der Zug abgefahren oder können wir uns vielleicht doch über eine neue Airline im T1 freuen?
 
Mit Barcelona wird erstmals wieder ein größerer Airport angesteuert. Ansonsten hat COA zuletzt immer etwas kleinere Airports neu aufgenommen. Chancen sehe trotzdem relativ wenig, nachdem die LH ja erwägt größeres Gerät nach Newark nächsten Sommer einzusetzen, leider für COA-Ambitionen.
 
Momentan ist nichts fest geplant. Das sagt nichts aus über Gedanken, Planspiele und Langzeitprojekte! Der Winter ist in dieser Hinsicht sicher gelaufen, für den Sommer gibt es noch Optionen. Da weiß aber derzeit garantiert niemand etwas Genaues außer der obersten CO-Etage.
