G’day Backpackers Xpress Supporter
Thank you for your recent registration of interest and support for our Backpackers Xpress airline business.
We really appreciate your great feedback and have used this type of input to shape what is now emerging as the final exciting product. If you haven’t already done so, visit us at
www.backpackersxpress.com for an update and further information as our business grows.
However, we are now writing to you to ask for one more important indication of support, as we have found ourselves in a conflicting application with Qantas over the available flight capacity from Australia to the UK.
In short, Qantas has applied for the entire allocation of available capacity, which amounts to seven additional weekly services. While they have indicated they do not need this capacity until late 2005, they have for some reason demanded that they be allocated the capacity NOW.
This would give them the entire UK/Australian allocation - or 28 services a week!
We at Backpackers Xpress have applied for three weekly services out of the seven available. If we are unsuccessful this will effectively lock Backpackers Xpress out of the UK market for up to five years.
If you are motivated to support us to get into the air, we need you to indicate this, as we have to prove to the IASC we have strong market support for our business model.
Please complete the attached letter with the date at the top, your name, and the country in which you live (at the bottom), and email it back to us. We will then bulk fax your letters to the IASC, as well as to the relevant government departments and ministers responsible for the final decision.
The window of opportunity is only open for responses until 21 July 2004, as the IASC will meet again on 23 July 2004.
Thanks again for your support we look forward to letting you know how we go. In the meantime travel safely, and we will see you very soon on one of our flights.
