Qatar Airways to Serve Madrid

Qatar Airways today announced Madrid as its newest route, to be launched on Dec. 2.

Qatar Airways will operate three flights a week between Doha and Madrid.

London-Kurdistan flights from 26th of October
– The first commercial flight between the British capital, London, and south [Iraqi] Kurdistan is scheduled for 26th of October 2005, according to a press-release by Sawan Airline on Labour Friend's of Iraq website.

30th of September 2005 states that the flight will take off from London’s Stansted airport to Erbil International Airport in Erbil (Hewler), Kurdistan.


The flight runs on a weekly basis and it is non-stop to Erbil Airport. There is an additional route running from Stockholm-Copenhagen to Erbil, first flight being on the 27th October.

EgyptAir to resume Cairo-Beijing flights

Egyptair, the state airline, will resume its flights to Beijing as from Oct. 30 after a two-year suspension, the official MENA news agency reported. Mohammed Mounir, head of commercial sector, said that the company will run four flights per week to Beijing via Bangkok on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, and back to Cairo on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Planes specified for the purpose will be Boeing 777 which can accommodate 319 passengers.

Royal Jordanian to Serve Basra
Agence France Presse reports that Royal Jordanian Airlines will begin twice weekly flights to the southern Iraqi port city of Basra.
Royal Jordanian already operates twice-daily flights to Baghdad.

Neues Lufthansa-Ziel ab Januar 2006: Doha in Katar

Konsequente Ausweitung des Flugangebots zu Ölmärkten
Lufthansa baut das Streckennetz in die Golfregion aus: Ab dem 10. Januar 2006 geht es dreimal wöchentlich von Frankfurt nach Doha, in die Hauptstadt des Staates Katar. Die Hin- und Rückflüge mit einem modernen 221-sitzigen Airbus A330 starten jeweils dienstags, donnerstags und samstags um 12.55 Uhr und landen nach einem Zwischenstopp in Kuwait nach etwa siebenstündiger Reisezeit in Doha um 22.10 Uhr Ortszeit. Die Rückflüge starten am Folgetag um 00.10 Uhr in Doha mit Ankunft in Frankfurt um 06.30 Uhr morgens. Diese Zeiten ermöglichen den Reisenden optimale Umsteigeverbindungen zu nachgefragten Destinationen in Europa und Nordamerika.
Rund 450.000 der 800.000 Einwohner Katars leben in der Hauptstadt Doha. Nach den Kriterien der Weltbank zählt der Staat zu den zehn reichsten Ländern der Welt. Dieser Reichtum beruht hauptsächlich auf den Erdgasvorkommen des Landes und der Gewinnung, dem Export und der Weiterverarbeitung von Erdgas und Erdöl. Katar verfügt über das größte zusammenhängende Erdgasvorkommen der Welt.
Mit der Aufnahme der Flüge nach Doha setzt Lufthansa ihre Strategie von Flügen zu den Ölmärkten weltweit konsequent fort. Neben Doha bedient die Fluggesellschaft beispielsweise wichtige Ölmärkte wie Houston/USA, Port Harcourt in Nigeria, Stavanger in Norwegen sowie Algier und Tripolis in Nordafrika.

Schade, dass MUC nicht dabei ist.
Aber offensichtlich sind wir noch nicht gross genug, dass sich die nicht SA -Airlines darum reissen, überhaupt oder noch mehr nach MUC zu fliegen.
Das kann aber noch werden.
Aber wer weiss, wie lange es DL noch gibt.

Leider wird es auch mit der von flymunich erwähnten Kapazitätsaufstockung (B767-400) nix werden.

Lt. der Pressemeldung von Delta: "...In addition to new routes listed above, Delta will increase seasonal capacity between Atlanta and Ireland and between New York (JFK) and Rome. ..."
 
Warum @ munich???

Ich konnte nicht nachvollziehen in den Pressemeldungen wo konkret die acht B767-400 eingesetzt werden. Unter Umständen war von Irland und Italien die Rede, aber mit Sicherheit nicht mit acht Maschinen gleichzeitig. ;)
 
Malev fliegt ab 16.01.2006 3x wöchentlich (2xCRJ und 1x 73G!) von BUD nach Târgu Mures (TGM) in Rumänien. Somit verbindet MA den Hub in BUD dann mit 5 rumänischen Destinationen (OTP, TSR, CND, TGM sowie CLJ im cs mit V3) und hat damit das breiteste Angebot für Rumänien aller nich-rumänischen Carrier. Ebenfalls ist damit MUC nicht mehr der Airport mit den meisten Zielen in Rumänien.:o
 
AZAL Azerbaijan Airlines (J2/Baku) will launch twice weekly A319-100 service from Baku to Milan Malpensa on November 21.

Jet2 (LS/Leeds/Bradford) will give up its routes from Leeds/Bradford and Manchester to Venice Marco Polo and between Belfast Intl and Bournemouth by the end of the month.

Carpatair (V3/Timisoara) is planning to add a new route from Timisoara to London in early 2006.

Norwegian (DY/Oslo Gardermoen) will operate three weekly services from Oslo Gardermoen to Riga and two weekly flights to Gdansk as of November 10 using B737-300s.

Pegasus Airlines (PGT/Istanbul Ataturk) will launch scheduled low-cost domestic services on November 1. It will operate two daily flights from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen to Adana, Ankara and Trabzon as well as daily services from Istabul Sabiha Gokcen to Antalya and Van and between Ankara and Trabzon.

VLM (VG/Antwerp) will launch five times weekly Fokker 50 service from London City to the Isle of Man on November 1.

Styrian Spirit (Z2/Graz) is planning to add new routes from Graz, Klagenfurt, Linz and Salzburg to Amsterdam in spring 2006.

Stimmt natürlich ... seit der Aufnahme von SBZ im Juni. Aber MUC hat noch die Charter-Flüge nach CND im Sommer;D
