Iberia-Piloten kündigen siebentägigen Streik an

Die Piloten der spanischen Fluglinie Iberia haben für den 10. bis 16. Juli einen siebentägigen Streik angekündigt. Sie protestieren damit gegen Pläne für eine Billigfluglinie des Konzerns. Pro Tag sollen mehr als 200 Flüge gestrichen werden. Die Airline gab an, ihren Dienst auf die Kanaren, Balearen, nach Afrika und in den Nahen und Mittleren Osten aufrecht zu erhalten.
Am Mittwoch hat die Iberia jedoch alle Flüge für den Zeitraum 10. bis 16. Juli für den Verkauf geschlossen. Dies umfasst nicht nur den spanisch-deutschen Nachbarschaftsverkehr, sondern auch alle Dienste der Iberia nach Europa und Interkont-Strecken. Wie viele Passagiere betroffen sind, ist noch nicht bekannt.
Durch den Streik - gepaart mit den saisonal ohnehin hohen Sitzladefaktoren - werden die Chancen für ID-Reisen nahe null sein. Bitte bedenken Sie dies bei Ihrer Reiseplanung.

PrivatAir hopes to unveil another airline client for its all-business-class operations this summer. The Swiss company, which flies for Lufthansa, KLM and Swiss International Air Lines in addition to operating Airbus's corporate shuttle, said interest in its services is growing. "We are talking to several carriers, because the others [airlines] see that it is a success," CEO Greg Thomas told ATWOnline. PrivatAir's business plan for the next five years calls for the addition of 17 BBJs or ACJs.
It also signed a contract on July 6 to add a 56-seat 767-300ER to its VIP fleet by the second half of 2007, replacing a BBJ 1. "We want to have a long-haul aircraft available which is able to operate nonstop sectors Geneva-Los Angeles or to Hong Kong," Thomas said. Nevertheless, he is talking with airlines about wet-leasing a 767 in an all-business layout with up to 90 seats, and "we are also speaking with Boeing to evaluate the 787 for our fleet in several years to come."
PrivatAir operates 53 aircraft and transports 110,000 passengers per year. Half its business and 50,000 passengers come from operating business-class services for other airlines. The same number fly the Airbus shuttle and approximately 10,000 fly PrivatAir's ad-hoc VIP charters. Thomas expects 2006 revenue to climb 2.7% to $190 million.

Finnair to make Madrid, Manchester routes non-stop

Finnair is to discontinue the Stockholm stopover on its Helsinki-Madrid and Helsinki-Manchester services starting 29 October, the Finnish flag carrier said in a statement Wednesday.
Further, in order to offer better connections to Finnair's Asian flights from its Helsinki-Vantaa hub, the Barcelona flights are to be operated from Helsinki in the afternoons, not mornings, and the flights from Barcelona earlier in the morning.
"Travel from Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester to Finnair's Asian destinations has been on the rise. We no longer need to make a stop in Stockholm to carry more passengers. We can offer our customers a better product than before and our Asian strategy is enhanced: we now have a one-stop service via Helsinki from Asia to all over Europe," said in the statement Petteri Kostermaa, head of network strategies and management at Finnair.

Transaero Airlines wants the Russian government to lift duties on imported aircraft in order to spur fleet renewal. DG Olga Pleshakova said in Toulouse that the A330, A340 and A350 "perfectly suit Transaero's development strategy in the field of servicing long-haul routes from Moscow and St. Petersburg airports." It currently flies to Canada, the Caribbean and Southeast Asia and intends to expand its network to the US, Brazil and Australia.
Separately, Transaero and bmi signed a commercial agreement yesterday in London that will see each carrier launch a daily London Heathrow-Moscow Domodedovo flight beginning Oct. 29. The carriers will codeshare on connections from their respective hubs. Bmi will use an A320 on the route, on which British Airways and Aeroflot have a similar arrangement.

Cyprus Airways finalized the sale of charter subsidiary Eurocypria to the government, according to press reports. The deal, worth CYP13.5 million ($29.9 million), is part of the carrier's restructuring. The government said that the acquisition and spinoff of Eurocypria were designed to create a second, debt-free scheduled carrier. Eurocypria took delivery of its fifth 737-800 last month.

Sudan Airways returns to London
After a two-year absence, Sudan Airways will return to London with flights to Heathrow and Gatwick.

Effective July 15, 2006, Sudan Airways will operate a twice weekly service from London to Khartoum using an A300-600ER passenger aircraft with a 10 ton cargo payload.
The flight will operate to Heathrow on Saturdays and to Gatwick Airport on Tuesdays.
Sudan is a strong and growing airfreight market, and Sudan Airways will be the only carrier providing direct wide-body capacity from the UK to Khartoum.
From the carrier’s Khartoum hub, Sudan Airways operates connecting flights throughout Sudan and the surrounding Middle East and African region, including destinations such as Juba, Elfashir and N’djamena. Sudan Airways will be represented by ANA Aviation Services in the UK and their sister company Network Airline Services in mainland Europe.
 
Iberia-Piloten beenden Streik

Die Piloten der führenden spanischen Fluggesellschaft Iberia haben ihren Streik nach drei Tagen beendet. Das teilte die Pilotengewerkschaft Sepia nach Verhandlungen mit Iberia unter der Regie der spanischen Regierung mit. Sepia hatte gefordert, daß alle 1800 Iberia-Piloten Arbeitsplatz- und Gehaltsgarantien bis zum 65. Lebensjahr erhalten (F.A.Z. vom 11. Juli). Dem ist Iberia nur teilweise entgegengekommen: Sie garantierte den Piloten lediglich, daß sie durch den geplanten Aufbau der Billigfluggesellschaft Catair keine Stellen verlieren. Die Kompromißbereitschaft von Sepia war offenbar auch durch die Drohung von Iberia erhöht worden, gegen die Piloten vor Gericht zu ziehen, weil sie den Streik für illegal hielt. Außerdem haben selbst die führenden spanischen Gewerkschaften den Piloten vorgeworfen, sie verhielten sich angesichts ihrer hohen Gehälter höchst unsohdansch und egoistisch. An den drei Streiktagen sind rund 700 Flüge hauptsächlich im Inland, aber auch auf europäischen Strecken, etwa nach Deutschland, ausgefallen. Iberia bezifferte den Verlust auf rund 5 Millionen Euro am Tag. Nach dem Ende des Streiks, der ursprünglich bis einschließlich Sonntag dauern sollte, stieg der Iberia-Kurs vorübergehend um bis zu 3 Prozent.

Zuerst sind die dran, die ganz hinten auf einem Fensterplatz sitzen. In Gruppe zwei kommen die Fensterplätze etwas weiter vorne dran und die Mittelplätze ganz hinten. So geht das weiter, bis die Gangplätze in den ersten Reihen gefüllt sind. America West druckte Gruppennummern auf die Bordkarten und rief die Gruppen der Reihe nach auf. Mit zwei Bordkarten-Abreißern, Familien und Reisegruppen durften zusammenbleiben.

Erneut Überfall auf südafrikanisches Flugzeug
Wenige Wochen nach einem spektakulären Überfall auf dem Flughafen Johannesburg haben Kriminelle am Donnerstag erneut ein südafrikanisches Flugzeug überfallen. Einer Gruppe von bis zu zehn schwerbewaffneten Gangstern fiel dabei Geld in unbekannter Höhe in die Hände. Erst vor wenigen Wochen hatte es auf dem Flughafen Johannesburg einen Überfall auf ein Verkehrsflugzeug gegeben, bei dem eine Bande Geld im Wert von mehreren Millionen Euro entwendet hatte. Die meisten Täter wurden gefaßt. Das beschlagnahmte Geld wurde später aus einem Polizeitresor gestohlen.

Jedenfalls ist die Jade Geschäftsführung und Flugbetriebsleitung mit ex Condor Leuten besetzt...;)
 
Wobei ich einen Frachrkurs nach MUC mit Jade nicht ausschließen würde....., ansonsten, wer ihn sehen will muß nach AMS.

Singapore Air Orders New Airbus A350s, More A380s

Airbus announced a deal with Singapore Airlines on Friday potentially worth USD$7.5 billion as the Asian carrier became the first to commit to the new A350 XWB model and underscored its faith in the A380 superjumbo by pledging to buy more.

Airbus unveiled plans for the A350 XWB (extra wide body) on Monday, capping two years of design changes to a plane now due in 2012.

Singapore said it had signed a letter of intent (LOI) to buy 20 Airbus A350 XWB-900s and nine additional Airbus A380-800 superjumbos.

The airline said in a statement that it would also take options for another 20 A350s, which seat 314 passengers. It also holds options to take six more A380s, which seat 555 on twin decks.

The orders mark a key win for Airbus after Singapore announced plans last month to buy 20 of the rival 787-9 model from Boeing and to take purchase rights on a further 20.

Singapore also flies the world's biggest fleet of 777s, another Boeing model which the A350 is designed to compete against.

"It is heartening that Airbus has listened to customer airlines and has come up with a totally new design for the A350," Singapore Airlines Chief Executive Chew Choon Seng said in a statement.

"The technical specifications and guaranteed performance will make it a very competitive aircraft in its class for the coming decades."

The A350s are due to be delivered between 2012 and 2014.

Singapore is set later this year to be the first to fly the A380 superjumbo, a USD$300 million double-decker which has caused Airbus headaches because of wiring installation problems set to delay deliveries over the program's first three years.

Singapore said that Airbus had demonstrated that the engineering performance of the A380 was sound.

It expects to take delivery of the nine additional A380s, which come on top of 10 already on order, beginning in 2008.

"This is a re-endorsement of our A380 program from one of our first and most prestigious customers. Singapore was no doubt disappointed on delivery delays but they are clearly committed to the A380 program," Airbus sales chief John Leahy said at the Farnborough International Airshow.

The year's biggest air show began on Monday near London, triggering a busy week with Airbus and Boeing announcing firm and tentative deals involving more than 200 planes.

Singapore said it planned to make arrangements with Airbus to lease 19 A330-300 aircraft from early 2009 until late 2010 to meet its capacity needs while it awaits new planes from Airbus and Boeing.
