Germany's DBA Budget Airline to Expand
02.18.2005, 06:20 AM
German low-cost airline DBA is expanding its domestic and international flights by taking over 15 routes from rival carrier Germania, the company's owner said Friday.
DBA will lease 12 Fokker 100 jets from Germania and add foreign destinations in Greece and Italy as well as Moscow; Stockholm, Sweden; and Tbilisi, Georgia, owner Hans-Rudolf Woehrl said.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Woehrl said DBA does not rule out taking over Germania. With the new routes, DBA aims to increase its annual passenger total by 1 million to more than 4 million.
German media reports this week said DBA also is among the bidders for Greece's struggling national carrier Olympic Airways.
